The Frances Perry Scholarship is a scholarship fund of the Mississippi Conference United Women in Faith. The fund was set up in 1978 by Mr. E. V. Perry to honor his late wife, Mrs. Frances Perry of Rolling Fork, MS, a past-president of the former Mississippi Conference. It was originally set for women going into the mission field of the United Methodist Church. The program has evolved through the years with donations from United Women in Faith across the State.
Scholarships up to $1500 are now available to any junior, senior or graduate student who has a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale and is a member of a United Methodist Church in the Mississippi Conference. The student must be enrolled or plan to enroll in a University Senate approved university, and she or he must plan to pursue a full-time professional ministry in the United Methodist Church. The scholarship is renewable for four additional years, if a grade point average of 3.0 is maintained at an approved institution.
The Frances Perry Scholarship chairperson and committee members are appointed by the Mississippi Conference United Women in Faith President.
